When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

"For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

"Christ paid the ultimate price for you when He came to earth as a man, willingly died on the cross, and paid the penalty for your sins. Jesus Christ was God, and He did not have to redeem you. But He loved you so much--you were so valuable to Him--that He willingly paid the highest price. Without doubt, you have great worth in His eyes!" Seeing Yourself Through God's Eyes, by June Hunt

"Love so amazing...so divine...demands my soul, my life, my all." Words: Isaac Watts, Hymns and Spiritual Songs, 1707. Charles Wesley reportedly said he would give up all his other hymns to have written this one. (http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/w/h/e/whenisur.htm)
