Summer Bible Study

The Bible study I'm facilitating for the morning sessions at my church this summer is Faithful, Abundant, and True: Three Lives Going Deeper Still with video portions from the live Deeper Still event in Orlando, Florida with Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer, and Beth Moore.

Yesterday was our first session, and it was awesome! Kay Arthur is a powerful speaker and a believer in God's Word being God-breathed! I love reminders that the Bible was not man's idea but God's revelation to us through the inspiration given to men by the Holy Spirit. Studying Scriptures about God's Word, I learned that:

a) The Word comes from the mouth of God; it's a "spoken" word; we live on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matt. 4:2-4)

b) All Scripture, which is God's Word, is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

c) Scripture is God's revelation to man by way of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21)

d) Jesus gave us His Word, and the world hates us because we have the Word; God sanctifies us in the truth; His Word is truth (John 17:14-17)

e) The Word is alive and active, sharp and revealing, able to judge our thoughts, motives, and the intents of our hearts (Hebrews 4:12)

f) We receive the Word and it performs its work in us (1 Thes. 2:13)

Praise God for His Word that saves us, sanctifies us, feeds and heals our souls, minds, and spirits!

We start that Bible study this fall. I'm so excited. I get so pumped by the video. Praise God for His Holy Word!!! I love what Kay said, "This is the communication of God Almighty to mankind and we are to live by every word that comes out of the mouth of God."

Being a woman who has anxiety, it gives me comfort to know that God's word is power and I'm to be of good courage all the time!!

Amen, Jessica! It is life-changing to remember that when we surrender our lives to the Lord, seek to know God and live by the power of His Word and the Holy Spirit, we can be more than we could ever be on our own and live a life of victory over our challenges! :)
