“Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me….Where I am going you cannot come. Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” John 13:33, 14:1, ESV
In the midst of harsh circumstances, God asks us to believe in him and in His Son. He doesn’t want us to lose hope and fall into despair. Despite what we may think, all is not lost. In difficult times, our own understanding will fail us. We must lean on, cling to, and rely on our belief in God and Jesus. God is who He says He is and He can do what He says He can do. Jesus is our Lord and Savior, our Great Shepherd, our Redeemer, and Defender. He has overcome the evil one for us. Nothing can change the fact that as believers, we are God’s beloved little children whom He delights in. And so He reminds us in His Word to believe in Him, trust in Him. When all is said and done, He will make all things work together for our good and His glorious purpose.
